Top Air Travel Apps on Android in Mexico: Q3 2024 Performance

During the third quarter of 2024, the performance of leading air travel apps in Mexico on the Android platform displayed varied trends in terms of weekly downloads and active user engagement, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Viva Aerobus showed a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, starting with approximately 21K and peaking at around 25.8K mid-July. The downloads saw a dip towards the end of August, bottoming out at approximately 18.4K, before rising again to 21.3K by the end of September. Active users mirrored this trend, with numbers initially increasing from 71.2K to 77.4K, then declining to 65.4K in early September, before recovering slightly to 69.8K.

Volaris maintained a relatively stable weekly download rate, beginning at 16.5K and reaching a high of 21.1K by mid-July. The numbers decreased to about 14.9K in mid-September but increased again to 17.2K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users followed a similar trajectory, starting at 49.6K, peaking at 55.9K, and ending at 49.1K.

Aeromexico experienced a varied download pattern, with weekly downloads starting at 10K, peaking at 12.1K mid-September, and dropping to 7.6K by the end of the quarter. The active user base fluctuated slightly, starting at 37.5K, peaking at 40.9K mid-July, and declining to 33.9K by the end of September.

Flightradar24 Flight Tracker exhibited a steady weekly revenue stream throughout the quarter, ranging from $764 to $1.2K. The app's weekly downloads started at 5.1K, with a peak of 6.2K in late July, before settling at 3.8K by the end of September. Active users showed a consistent pattern, beginning at 46.9K, peaking at 48.9K, and ending at 42.9K.

Lastly, AMX 2.0 witnessed modest download numbers, starting at 4.6K and experiencing fluctuations throughout the quarter, with a slight peak of 4.8K in mid-August and concluding at 3.6K.
